The original Chico's Mexican Restaurant opened in Downtown Greenville, NC in 1983. The muy bueno success of this location initiated the 1988 opening of the second Chico's in the Power Plant in Rocky Mount. As mucho customer satisfaction continued to grow, so did Chico's. In 1999, the Tres Chico's opened beside Pitt Community College in Winterville.
All general managers of the Chico's restaurants worked their way up from dishwashers, hosts, and servers without being fired, and total over fifty years experience with Chico's. The kitchen managers are from different areas of Mexico and the majority of the kitchen staff is family and friends who often share secret family recipes.
